Over Labor Day weekend, I attended PAX
Prime West at the Washington Convention Center and I had a blast. It was four days basically filled with walking around, trying out new games, seeing new tech and, overall, just having fun. Sure, by the end of each day, I was exhausted…we hardly ate and the one day that we did eat (which happened to be the last day), I felt amazing afterwards. So tip number one: keep nourished. It will help you keep on going for longer.
trying out new games: I stuck to (mostly) some of the smaller names in video games. Though I love Blizzard games, I did not step into the booth (just around it). I did play a couple of fun games: gigantic, which is a fun MOBA with a twist; severed, a touch based rpg that reminded me of fruit ninja, but better (!), and super galaxy squadron ex, which I have been playing at home basically everyday.
playstation vr: I wasn’t super into the VR thing before PAX – to me, it seemed completely unnecessary. However, we signed up to try the demo and it has changed my mind. I am excited for the release in October.
more walking room: It definitely did not seem as crowded this year, maybe due to the wider aisles. I could actually walk, which was nice. Plus, there were a lot of different places to go to, so I wasn’t confined to one area for very long.
Overall, I had a great time this year! It’s revitalized me into playing more video games, especially since I haven’t play much this summer. It’s a nice way to wind down from a long day at work.
Plus, I’m planning on doing more of these “weekend vlogs” in the future. I love filming and I’m trying to hone my editing skills so this seems like the perfect way to do it. Stay tuned for more!
