how did i live without these?

One of the blogs I frequent, The Well, started a cool blog series link up and I thought I would participate. It’s a great way to stretch my mind and inspiration. Basically, today, a bunch of bloggers are blogging about the same thing:

WHAT DID YOU PURCHASE IN THE PAST YEAR THAT BECAME INVALUABLE TO YOU? SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU THINK — HOW DID I LIVE WITHOUT THIS ITEM!?!

I have two answers for this: an actual tangible item and a group of items (oooh, suspense!). First up, the single item that became invaluable to me: a microwave. I know, I know, it’s pretty much standard in any home, but ever since I’ve lived alone, I’ve never bought one. I just figured I would never use it.

Boy, was I wrong.

I never thought I would use it so much. It’s so convenient! I’m a dumbie for not buying one sooner! This one was from Target and was on like super sale so there really was no excuse for me to not buy it. I do have a small kitchen with not a lot of counter space, so I ended up buying a kitchen cart from Ikea to put it on and it added more shelves in my kitchen!

Another thing I bought this year that was absolutely life-changing: facewash that doesn’t have harsh chemicals. I used to use facewash that contained a lot chemicals and I have such sensitively oily skin, so I basically always broke out. Finally, I had enough, bought some Neutrogena’s Naturals Cleansers and it was amazing. My skin feels so smooth! So clean! I also picked up some Simple Moisturizing Wash while on my trip to Austin because I forgot cleanser and that is also amazing.

Of course, skin is different for everyone, so you will have to try a bunch of stuff before you find something that works for you.

That’s it! I know, these are basic necessities, but they are wonderful and did really change my life.

I’m on the hunt for an all-natural facial cleanser, preferable one that doesn’t break the bank. I’ll have to check this out. And I can’t believe you lived without a microwave! I think I use mine almost every day.

Hi Erica! I had the same issue – a lot of all-natural cleansers are out of my price range! I do love Simple’s Facewash – it’s great!

What an unexpected but fantastic item! I love that you listed a microwave, but I love your face wash even more! As I slowly age I have become aware of the fact that good skincare is super important. I’m always on the lookout for great products.
