what i got in the beautylish lucky bag 2018

beautylish lucky bag 2018

It’s that time of year again: beautylish lucky bag time! This is my second year purchasing a beautylish lucky bag, which comes out right after Christmas. Like last year, there were 2 sizes – regular and XL. Regular bags retail at $75 and include at least $150 worth of product, while XL bags are $150 and include at least $300 worth of product. XL bags sell out really quick, so I didn’t get a chance to purchase that one, but I was able to pick up the regular bag for light-medium skintones.

Let’s take a look at what was in my beautylish lucky bag:

beautylish lucky bag 2018 contents

natasha denona magic primer anti-shine flawless face base ($55). Holy moly, this is definitely the most expensive primer I have ever owned. I am actually pretty excited to try this, especially since I am always looking for ways to look less shiny throughout the day.

oribe dry texturizing spray 2.2oz ($22).  This is a repeat item, but I am totally fine with it. This is my absolute favorite hair spray, which I use when I curl my hair. Definitely happy with this pickup.

charlotte tilbury matte revolution lipstick in walk of shame ($34). This is considered a berry shade, which I am also fine with. Before I opened the box, I was hoping for any shade other than pillow talk, which I already own and love. This looks a lot darker in person than in the swatches online, so hoping this would be a good everyday color.

wayne goss fan brush #15 ($25). The only wayne goss brushes I own were from last year’s lucky bag and I was a little afraid that I would get a dupe after seeing some boxes on social media. Pretty happy with this brush, even though I’m sort of out of the highlighting phase.

viseart theory palette in amethyst ($45). I was super surprised to receive this, mainly because I haven’t seen very many people receive something from viseart, which is known for their amazing quality eyeshadows. Out of the available options, I’m super happy with this version – I own too many browns and I’m not super interested in the grays or shimmers.

sulwhasoo first care activating mask ($12). I haven’t tried anything from this brand and I knew that at least one of these masks would make its way into my box based on other boxes I have seen. A pack of 5 is $60 (yes, you read that right), which makes this the single most expensive sheet mask I have ever owned.

total box value: $193, which is more than the $150 guaranteed value. Pretty satisfied with this bag. It included luxury brands and items that normally would be out of my price range that I got at a pretty deep discount.

Did you purchase a beautylish lucky bag? What did you receive?

’til next time, xo!
