my current morning skincare routine for oily skin

One of my 2018 resolutions is to really be diligent with my skincare routine. I have an oily-to-combo skintype, that’s very acne prone, so having an actual routine would definitely help this situation. I thought I would take you through my morning and nightime rountines, starting with (you guessed it) my morning skincare routine for oily skin.

first aid beauty pure skin cleanser – I use this in the shower every morning and it’s gentle and not overly drying. For the most part, I like this cleanser, but there is a strong scent that I just can’t put my finger on what it’s supposed to smell like. I tend to rotate through cleanser when I use one up, so I probably won’t pick this up again. It’s not terrible, but it’s just not my favorite and for $20 a bottle, I go through it very quick.

drunk elephant c-firma day serum – a longtime staple in my morning routine, I use this every other day and I’ve noticed it helps brighten my complexion and help lighten some of my acne scaring. I probably won’t be giving this up soon, but I do have the ordinary vitamin c serum that I will try once this bottle is up. I do have a backup, just in case.

the ordinary the buffet – on days where I’m not using the c-firma serum, I’m using the buffet by the ordinary. I just started using this, so I don’t have a strong opinion on this. It’s one of the ordinary’s more expensive serums, but it’s only $14, so it’s not that expensive.

drunk elephant b-hydra intensive hydration gel – after I ran out of my beloved aqua bomb, I decided to try this one before opening my backup. The consistency is very similar and I feel like this is slightly more hydrating, but not heavy. It doesn’t make me feel like an oil slick and it absorbs quite fast. It does have a nice cooling feeling and doesn’t have any fragrance.
