It’s that time again…let’s take a look at my trash. I’ve collected an assortment of items this time around, mostly in the skincare and hair care categories. Let’s go through them and I’ll tell you my thoughts and whether or not I would repurchase them.

shisedo perfect cleansing oil: I think this was a deluxe size and it’s been sitting in my bathroom vanity for a while, so I used this as my primary oil cleanser for a few weeks. You really don’t need too much to cleanse your face, so it does last a good while. The texture is a bit thicker and not very slippy and it foams up a little when you add water. I tend to apply it all over, put a little water in my hands and foam it up a bit and then rinse. It takes off my waterproof mascara with ease and my face doesn’t feel super greasy after using it.

would i repurchase? Possibly. It’s a nice oil cleanser, but it’s pricey. I’ll see how I feel after I finish my Neutrogena oil cleanser.

simple micellar water: Micellar water is having its moment. This is the first micellar water I’ve finished off and honestly, I felt like I was using way more than I needed to finish it off. This is an okay cleanser, but it’s definitely one that you need a second cleanse after. It isn’t take off makeup very well and it leaves a little film.

would i repurchase? No. I’ve got several bottles of other micellar waters, so it’ll be a long time before I buy another…and unfortunately, it would not be this one.

drunk elephant b-hydra intensive hydration gel: This is another deluxe sized item and it was part of the Drunk Elephant’s holiday sets. I personally prefer gel over cream in terms of moisturizers – it leaves me less greasy throughout the day. It’s a lot like my Belif Aqua Bomb and I quite liked it. However, this is nearly double in price for the same amount of product and I don’t think it’s that much better than the Aqua Bomb.

would I repurchase? Not at it’s full size. If it’s a part of their holiday set again this year (I typically pick up the C-Firma set), I would get another deluxe size.

pixi by petra glow tonic: Here’s one of those cult skincare products, which I understand. This is a nice AHA toner; it doesn’t overly dry out my face and I notice a difference when I use this and when I don’t. It’s a bit pricey for the drugstore, but a little goes a long way.

would I repurchase? Yes. I’m currently using another AHA toner right now, but once that’s gone, I would be picking this one up again.

origins ginzing energy boosting gel moisturizer: This is one of those products that I’ve used on and off, mostly because it just didn’t do much for me. If anything, I felt a bit greasier than other moisturizers. It’s not a bad moisturizer, but it would be better for drier or normal skin types.

would I repurchase? No.

bity beauty agave lip balm: This is the first lip balm I have ever used up to the very end. I was actually quite surprised, but this is an extremely pricey balm, so I needed to get my money’s worth. Bite Beauty’s Agave Lip Mask is a cult favorite, but it’s too stiff and thick for me. The balm is a nice everyday, throw-in-your-purse balm, but do I think it’s worth the price? Eh, probably not.

would I repurchase? Nope, sorry Bite. I love your other stuff, but this is too much for my poor wallet.

dove refresh dry shampoo: I’ve got pretty greasy roots and this just did not help, at all. It would be okay for the first 10-ish minutes and I don’t have the patience to reapply all throughout the day.

would I repurchase? No.

clairol hair food dry shampoo: This performs just as well as the Dove shampoo (as in, not well at all) and has an extremely strong scent. It’s supposed to smell like kiwis, but it’s like overly flowered kiwis. It actually gave me headaches. Please, stop putting so much fragrance in dry shampoo!

would I repurchase? No.

not your mother’s clean freak dry shampoo: Finally, not a total fail when it comes to dry shampoo. No white cast, so that’s a huge plus for me. It does keep me not greasy for a lot longer, but I do need to reapply towards the end of the day. For the price, I’m quite happy with the performance, but I’ve got a million (okay, more like 6) other dry shampoos in my bathroom cabinet that I’m trying.

would I repurchase? Probably, if I can’t find a better dry shampoo.

christophe robin regenerating hair mask: This is an item in one of my Sephora Play Boxes and probably something I wouldn’t have picked up just on its price alone. It is a nice mask, but it’s not significantly better than my current go-to Amika Soulfood hair mask. It does nourish and condition my hair and has a very nice scent, but it’s just not enough for me to justify purchasing it in a full size (or even travel size).

would I repurchase? Not for the price, unfortunately.

Whew, that was quite a list. What are some of your most recently used up products? Do you have a holy grail dry shampoo you can recommend me?

’til next time, xo!
