It’s almost the end of January, but I thought it’s still early enough in the year to discuss them. Honestly, I don’t think that you need to make resolutions at the beginning of the year; you can make them at any time of the year (or so I tell myself because I always make resolutions past the start of the year).
Let’s jump into it!
I have quite a few things that I want to focus on this year, so I’ve broken them down into a few different categories: makeup, fashion, home, and creativity.
makeup: from my earlier post about decluttering my makeup, it was the start of my makeup resolution to be more strategic when purchasing makeup. For the most part, this is buying less makeup, but it also is doing a lot of testing before making a purchase. I’ve been grabbing a ton of foundation samples (which I’ll share in a later post) because all of my foundation is just too dark or the wrong undertone. Plus, my collection got so out of control and I want to start panning my products and finding which ones I really truly love. As a part of this, I’m going to be sharing every month what I bought – mostly to keep me accountable, an important aspect of keeping resolutions.
fashion: I’ve also did a declutter of my wardrobe, but I want to do an even deeper clean. I want to fill my wardrobe with pieces that I really truly love. I want to find my signature style, find the most flattering fits, and of course downsize my collection. I’ll be sharing more fashion-related posts in the future!
home: this one, like the last two, is about doing more with less. This year, I want to downsize our home and building a cozy home. Right now, we live in a 2 bedroom apartment, most of which we do not use. The first step is organizing and doing a deep declutter. The next (and bigger) step is to move to a smaller apartment. I miss the intimacy of a smaller apartment and I think that we could really turn it into a cozy home. I also hope to document the journey and hope you follow along!
creativity: this one is a bit ambiguous, but my resolution is to be more creative outside of work. I have a creative job now, but I really want to do creative things outside of work. I’ll definitely be posting more often and possibly take on another side project (shh…it’s still in development), so you should be seeing some of this creativity shine through here!
