It’s that time of year again: time to talk through my favorite makeup items for the year! In case you missed it, I wrapped up my 2016 skin care favorites here. These items are things I have been using and loving throughout 2016 – some of these things are new releases or just new to me. However, these are the makeup items I kept reaching for this year.

For my face makeup, I have been loving the bare minerals complexion rescue – it’s so light and easy to apply. It lasts throughout the day and doesn’t make me super oily. I don’t have a standout powder this year – some days, I use a translucent powder and other days, I go for more a heavier coverage powder foundation. To cover my dark circles, I have been using the urban decay naked skin concealer – it’s an oldie, but goodie and just my favorite.

For bronzer, I have been using the too faced chocolate soleil bronzer. I may need to pick up a full-sized version once I’ve used my deluxe sample up (these things last forever!). For blush and highlight, I have been using the lorac color source blush in chroma and lorac light source illuminating highlighter in daylight. These are both very beautiful and wearable throughout the day. daylight reminds me of champagne pop from becca, but with less sparkle and definitely something I could rock in the daytime. chroma is just so beautiful and I love that it’s matte – it doesn’t accentuate any texture on my skin.

It’s probably no surprise, but my favorite eyeshadow palette is the anastasia modern renaissance paletteIt just has all the tones that I love in – the warm reds, the bronzy colors…I just love it. It’s very pigmented and I cannot recommend it enough. For mascaras, another oldie but goodie, but it has to be the too faced better than sex mascara. This is a repurchase and my favorite formula of mascara I have discovered. To round out the eye area, my go to brow product was benefit’s goof proof pencil. I did love some of the other releases that they came out with, but I just kept reaching for goof proof!

Finally, if there is anything I buy too much of, it’s lip products. I have two lip favorites – one liquid and one regular bullet lipstick. For liquid lipstick, I just loved kat von d’s everlasting liquid lipstick in lolita 2. I think this came out last Christmas, but I just love it. There is something about this terracotta shade that I love. For my other lipstick favorite, I absolutely loved the urban decay vice lipsticks, particularly in the color liar. They have so many different formulas, but I love the cream and comfort matte formulas the best.

And with that, it’s time to wrap-up 2016! What were some of your favorites this past year?

’til next time, xo!
