unboxing: smuggler’s bounty | jabba’s palace

smuggler's bounty | jabba's palace | funko

There is just something about subscription boxes that I love, but when they are Star Wars themed, I am over the moon for them. A few weeks ago, I received the smuggler’s bounty (the Funko Star Wars box) in the mail and I am super excited to share the goodies inside. The theme was jabba’s palace, so you are going to be seeing items that align with things we have seen there. Let’s get into what’s in the box! With every box, you get a patch and a pin and this month was nothing different. The pin features a Gamorrean, while the patch features a familiar face (or maybe mask?)...

june 2016 make up favorites

June is long over, but my love for makeup lives on. I have tried a ton of new launches and these were the makeup bits I have been loving this month. anastasia beverly hills modern renaissance palette – I am a sucker for eye shadow and this palette was no exception. The colors in here are all fab – and perfect for every look, whether it be dramatic or natural. It does cause a bit of fallout, but the colors last all day. There’s a perfect mix of shimmers and matte shades! becca x jaclyn hill champagne collection face palette  – When I first got Champagne Pop last year, I thought that would be...

makeup haul: sephora, ulta, + nars

I am a self-proclaimed makeup junkie. Whenever I see something new on Sephora, Ulta, or even the drugstore, I just drool. It’s crazy how many shades of mauve lipsticks I have and I still do not have enough. I recently bought a bunch of new makeup bits and thought I would share why I purchased and my first impressions! What’s the latest beauty item you’ve purchased? Let me know in the comments below!...

unboxing: legion of collectors plus mini funko haul

It’s been a while since my last post, but I’m back and with another video! In case you missed it, I’m obsessed with anything Funko. I am subscribed to smuggler’s bounty, legion of collectors, and collector corps, so I (on a monthly basis) am always adding to my collection. This month’s Legion of Collectors was a DC TV theme, so you got goodies from arrow, the flash, legends of tomorrow, and supergirl. DC is killing it in the TV game right now (movies…not so much). I was super excited for this box, so check out the video where I unbox and share my opinions! Also, I bought a bunch of new Pops and a...

funko haul! new pop vinyls & rock candy

funko haul: rock candy + pop vinyl

One of the things I love to collect is Funko figures: Pop!, Dorbz, and, now, the Rock Candy line. I went a little Funko-crazy this weekend while shopping (when I should have been shopping for work clothes!) I am in love with the new rock candy line. They are gorgeous, well done, and super cute! I only have the classic Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn, but I am on the hunt for the rest. These are definitely worth the price tag. Plus, I bought a bunch of the warcraft pop! figures, making me really excited for the movie next month. Check out the haul below!...

emerald city comic-con adventures

Remember how I said a long, long time ago that I wanted to delve into doing videos? Here’s the first one! Cameron and I both went to Emerald City Comic Con a week ago and I filmed a bit of what was going on, what I bought (spoiler: a LOT), and more. I’m planning on posting a video a week at this point; mostly weekend vlogs, but I do want to do some additional content. Do you have something you would like to see? I’m already planning on filming an April Favorites video, but I would love to do some beauty and fashion videos as well....

looking back: a year in seattle

a year in seattle: city skyline

I cannot believe that it’s been over a year since I moved to Seattle. It’s been a crazy whirlwind, that’s for sure. I have yet to regret the move — especially since the move was a big one, without help from family or friends. There has been a lot that happened in just a year: i adopted a cat, who completely changed my life. Luna is my whole universe and I love her more and more each day. Adopting her made me feel a little less lonely in a big city and has taught me to be more patient. i changed jobs. I haven’t talked about this yet on the...

on moving apartments: packing and organizing

on moving apartments: packing and organizing

It’s been a couple of weeks since I first talked about moving apartments and a lot has happened since then. After reading the life-changing magic of tidying up, I set out to remove clutter from my life. It ticked the first box off my list. The next box to tick off, securing a new apartment, was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I had set up appointments for one weekend, viewed several places, and came to an agreement on one all in the span of a week. It was quite a feat – and lifted a huge weight off. So next on the list: packing. I definitely...

6 months later: the continued adventures of a cat owner

the adventures of a cat owner

It’s crazy to think it’s been six months since I’ve adopted Luna – especially since I feel like I’ve known her for her whole life. But, also, it feels like we’re finally getting into a rhythm of living together. We’re all on her schedule now (even if that means meowing at 4:30 in the morning) and the floor is either covered in cat hair or her toys. She owns this place and I don’t really mind it. Don’t get me wrong: 2 humans + 1 cat in a sub-600 square foot apartment is a little crowded at times. She is part of the reason why I knew I needed a...

finance report: budgeting retrospective

the finance report: all the pretty stars

One of the things I want to focus on in 2016 is my finances – especially as I plan for moving and vacations throughout the year. This meant not only planning my budget on a monthly cadence, but looking through the next several months as well. Starting on January 1st, I really buckled down on following my budget. I use Mint to manage my budgets, but I didn’t normally go into my account that often. However, I knew if I wanted to save money for both a new apartment AND vacations, managing my money needed to become a bigger priority in my life. Here’s what I learned from my first...
